Picture Time in the Back Country
While Captain Paul may love to spend all his time fishing, he can't help but pause for a picture of the amazing fish his anglers catch on trips with him. From time to time he posts those picture here...so take a peek and you may see a picture of yourself, struggling to hold that huge Tarpon or Permit you caught on a trip with Captain Paul! Martin Greenspan & his tarpon
Martin, lately from Hilton Head Island, SC, caught & released his first ever tarpon on a light line on June 7, 1999. It was a tough 45 minute fight with this 125 lb fish, but my careful & patient instruction helped Martin to land the fish & release him unharmed.

I hooked my first tarpon when I was
9 years old. This memory & this
memory alone painted a vivid picture in my mind of what I truly wanted
to do in life which was to do nothing more or less than to fish for
tarpon in Key West.
When these fish come out of the water, there are no words to describe what you see. You just have to experience it for yourself. These fish pull hard & jump like nothing else. The only thing missing is if they roared like a lion when they jump.
P.S. I think I've heard the roar a few times Myself!!
